Meet the Chef

 

 

Aloha, my name is Michael O'Connor. For the past 36 years I have been  involved in many facets of the Hospitality Industry. After graduating from the State University of New York at Albany with a History Degree in 1978 I found my way into my first professional cooking position. Always cooking  for my friends and roommates throughout college it seemed a natural move, that and I knew where my next meal would be coming from.

My years of cooking have afforded me many wonderful experiences as well as a hands on education. I have worked in five different countries, five states, and one Canadian province. From  Ski resorts to PGA Tournament Players Clubs to a Bahamas Charter Live-aboard I have gained extensive experience cooking for many different types of people and their varying tastes. Upon moving to Oahu 17 years ago I spent two years as Assistant Deli Manager at the Honolulu Down to Earth, a strictly Vegetarian kitchen. I have developed &  prepared meals for Tube fed Cancer Survivors.

Fifteen years ago I started Home Chef so that I could use my years of experience to bring great food to your home. Whether it be a personalized meal plan or a catered party, you will be guaranteed  satisfaction. I have had the privilige of cooking for many great families over the years.

 

 

I am a State of Hawaii certified Food Handler.
